Winchester Model 1897,
Another old gun inherited from a now deceased great uncle, this is a Winchester Model 1897 12 gauge shotgun. The serial number indicates that it was made in 1912, making it over 100 years old. My uncle sawed off the barrel at 18 inches, the exact legal length for barrel length. While this may sound badass, to me its a damn shame because it severely damages the value of the gun. While it is in great condition, all original it could be worth a lot of money. However with the modified barrel, plus missing the front sight and a screw on the tube magazine, its value is drastically lowered.
It is fun to shoot, a rough and rugged gun the mechanism of it makes the action very stiff and rough compared to the smooth pump of modern shotguns, but you get used to it. It also kicks hard!
